Cowboy and the kid. It is his official duty to keep track of the kids..so, for most of the day, where his "kids" were, Cowboy was...Here she is..one of his smaller "charges" making tracks to sign up for the horse show, heading to the booth at a long trot. And, sure enough, Cowboy is at her heels. Pretty fun day ahead, for the good dog. Dropped hot dogs, and several hamburgers hit the dirt plus..kids to track. Perfect good-dog-day..
Doing his outrun, Cowboy keeps everything running smooth.
Was getting pretty sunny and hot towards noon. Glad she had her hat...to shade those beautiful eyes.

Janine and Manny the mustang. Yes, the very same mustang from the Mustang MakeOver. She got Manny in February..so four months ago, little Manny was a wild child, for sure..the only contact he had with humans, had not been good..he is 4, and never been haltered..or led, or brushed..and look at him now! Whoohooooo! Go Manny.
Meagan and Jewel. Both enjoyed their first show...Jewel is a PMU mare..came a long way from the kill pens in Canada. What a great thing to see..
Meet Pearl. She is a 17 hand mule. What a looker, eh? Jennifer has shown this mule sucessfully in Bishop, at the annual "Mule Days" celebration. She moves like a dream, and today she scored in the Trail Class. A classy competitor, and hard to beat.

Oh, these two! The seasoned show mare.."showing" her girl off. So serious...I just admire this dedication. This is, of course the appropriate way to show in hand. Proper posture a must. The polish paid off big time..I could hardly take my eyes off of them.
Enter the epitome of cute. This little mini, and her "mom" presented a perfect study in black and white.

I am telling you, this kid had it down. Perfect.
Never know that 4 months ago this little mustang had never been touched by human hands..and NOW look at him..a little halter horse.
Look at those eyes. Kind, competent, trusting. And to think he was headed to the 3 strikes kill pen.
Not the right color, not the right size, and not a baby. Janine and Manny have changed my mind about alot of things..like believing you can, is more important then the BLM.
